With Johan Santana headed to the New York Mets, Hughes will remain with the Yankees. “That’s kind of been my goal the whole time, and to finally know that it’s somewhat intact, it’s a good feeling,” the 21-year-old right-hander said Thursday at the Yankees’ minor league complex.

Judge orders daily breath tests while Leyritz awaits trial (AP)
Former World Series star Jim Leyritz was ordered Thursday to take daily breath tests while he awaits trial on DUI manslaughter charges. Judge Marc Gold said Leyritz must stay away from drugs and alcohol while waiting for trial, and he must blow into a machine three times a day to prove he is following orders.
