Fehr: Union would consider blood testing if process was valid (AP)
Players’ union leader Donald Fehr would consider approving blood testing for the human growth hormone if there was a valid, efficient procedure for determining its use over an extended period. Under baseball’s collective bargaining agreement, urine tests for performance-enhancing substances are administered, although HGH cannot be detected in current urine tests.

New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte said he is trying to focus on baseball, not the investigation into whether Roger Clemens lied to Congress. Pettitte acknowledged Thursday the new investigation might mean he’ll be interviewed again by federal officials. “I’m just prepared that it might happen,” Pettitte said before a workout at Legends Field.
